I have been involved in triathlons for 6 years now achieving good results but always came second in Olympic distance races.I felt I could improve in certain areas of my race. After finishing world championships on the gold coast last September I realised I needed more than just swim bike run. I was tiring towards the end of the season and getting the odd niggling injury. After meeting with Shane we had an initial consultation to workout my strengths and weaknesses , then workout a program for the next season.
From September on I have amazed myself at what I was capable of achieving. The programing from maxxfit has made me stronger and faster than I thought could be possible. I have had no injuries since starting the program and had more leg strength and upper body strength .
This a key element in my training now and I am using the off season to gain more strength in areas that I still need work on.With three training sessions a week I am feeling the strongest I have ever been.
My results this season have been 1st at National Age Triathlon championships Olympic distance
1st State QLD Sprint distance 1/2 Olympic 1st Luke Harrop plus many Pb's in all disciplines.
So thanks Shane,and Nathanuel, could not have achieved my best results without the incredible training, and on going positive encouragement.I look forward to you both helping me achieve my next goal to win a Half Iron man.

These days, having recently turned 40, I often think of my life in pre maxxfit times and post maxxfit times. To say that embarking on a personal fitness program with Maxxfit has changed my life sounds dramatic enough but it is true.
I first met Shane at a function with one of my firm’s clients who had trained with Shane over a long period of time. At that point, I hadn’t done any personal training or in fact any exercise for nearly 20 years. When it was suggested to me that I visit maxxfit and embark on a fitness program outwardly I agreed but inwardly cringed. Leading a busy life then, I convinced myself it would be impossible to fit in even the most basic personal exercise during a normal working week.
The first session at maxxfit seemed like hell on earth. It seemed like the longest half hour I had ever endured in my life. Having put it off possibly 4 or 5 times, I finally agreed to try that first session. By the second session, I was hooked! The increased level of energy and productivity I had at work from that second session onwards was incredible.
I now train at least 5 times a week and thoroughly enjoy the one on one sessions and the group training sessions which are a great way to encourage and be encouraged by others to reach personal goals as well as being an enjoyable part of the day meeting others interested in maintaining their fitness. Over the past year, I have lost a significant amount of weight, increased my fitness levels to a level I could never have imagined but most of all the mental and physical well being has been overwhelming. I cannot now imagine a life without a disciplined fitness regime with maxxfit.
In all, my favourite saying at maxxfit is “baby steps”. Bit by bit, maxxfit has helped me to work on my fitness, increase my energy levels, improve and maintain my diet but most importantly have a generally better outlook on life both emotionally and physically.
I recommend Shane and the team at maxxfit as a great way to transform your life!

Working with maxxfit is the best thing I have ever done for my health!
Following a ‘tree change’ at the age of 45, I took up backpacking and bushwalking for fun and fitness. Never having done a day’s exercise in my life, it wasn’t long before I developed an overuse hip flexor injury and 6 months of physiotherapy followed. The next step in my rehabilitation was to start an exercise program. Let me just say that I have never been an exercise fan and I pretty much had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the gym, but the weekly sessions with Shane were good motivation and the results noticeable.
In 6 months the pain was gone, and Shane helped me to refocus my energies on building up my strength and fitness so that I could get out there and enjoy even more of the great outdoors. Now, 3 years later, I am stronger, fitter and have more energy than I have had since I was 20. I have been to many places and done many things that I could not have dreamed of in my old life. I even made it to Everest Base Camp earlier this year!
I now go to the gym at least 3 times a week and have added group training sessions to my personal training with Shane. I thoroughly enjoy working with Shane and his other trainers and clients. Now, instead of something I should do, my training sessions are something I look forward to and derive a great sense of achievement from. It is fun, personal and most importantly, I can see and feel how my health is changing for the better.
Exercising is now a very enjoyable part of my life and I cannot imagine my life without it!

After having hip replacement surgery about 5 years ago, I did not have the opportunity of going to rehab but instead on the surgeon’s advice only had physio. This was a big mistake and my recovery was very slow.
The big turnaround in my life was when I started training with Shane about 18 months ago. He is fanatical about correct technique and constantly changes the routine to work different muscle groups.
I now look forward to working out and can feel the difference to my strength, stamina and agility.

Having battled the bulge all my life, I joined Weight Watchers over a year ago and lost almost 20 kg.
Working with Kathryn, she advised me that she was looking for a ‘guinea pig’ to train herself as she had qualified as a trainer. I was very happy to be the guinea pig as it met my needs of requiring a skilled person to assist me with exercise to loose another 13 kg and get me to my goal weight and continue to change my lifestyle forever.
Well what can I say? maxxfit trainers Kathryn and Shane have transformed me. I love to exercise now. I look forward to the 3 sessions that I attend in the week and have only ever missed one since commencing.
I believe that the transformation has occurred as both Kathryn and Shane do not allow me to get board as I never know what is coming up in the next session. They very cleverly have hooked me into the world of exercise by providing me with very challenging workouts that have tested both my mental and physical strength and they have pushed me over the line with the variation.
Since commencing at maxfitt in March 2011 I am happy and proud to advise that I have now lost a further 3.3kg on the scales and a further 20cms all over which I think is even more noticeable than the result on the scales.
I can only thank Kathryn and Shane for believing in me and assisting me to reach my life goal of finally getting to my target weight and for helping me make exercise a big part of my life.
